I am so happy to be back!

I suppose the title deserves an explanation. Friday evening, I was sitting in the living room with Sheri when I decided to go check my email. I walked over to the computer and saw NOTHING!!!! It was asking for a boot disc. Uh, we just bought this baby in December, it can’t possibly be dead. Alas, it was kaput. However, I returned it to the place where it was purchased and after speaking with their “Nerd Herd” for a bit, and then a trip to the service desk, I was informed they would replace it at no cost. Well, Halle-frackin’-lujah! However, when I went over to the computer section, our unit was not in stock.

.

We can order it for you.”

.

Nah, that ain’t gonna work. I’d be crawling the walls waiting.

.

.How about we replace it with a comparable model?

.

Maybe. Whaddaya got?

.

After looking around, there was nothing anywhere close. Intel Core Duo. 1 GB RAM, 360 GB HD, dual layer DVD burner. Nadda, zip.

.

So the guy – who happened to look just like Seth Rogin – said, “I suppose I could give you a slightly better model.

.

And he did. I went home with an Core Duo, 2 GB RAM, 400 GB HD, Super dual layer DVD burner.

.

Then came the work. Reloading all of my software. Adobe Creative Suite, Ulead Video Studio, etc. Then loading Firefox, Thunderbird, adding my address book, etc.

.

Unfortunately, we lost a few photos, some video, etc. and I missed a couple of days of blogging. I suppose I could have used the laptop – in fact I did use the laptop to post my email about Ray McGovern, but for the most part I was tweaking the new computer to get it to a point where I was was somewhat happy. I leave you with my first new “Fun with Photoshop” creation on the new ‘puter.

.

To be honest, not a single GOP candidate has ever really left the ground this year.

All things do come together in the end.

Glad to hear you got that resolved! We have another computer in the house that’s only a few months old which my husband built. It’s great and has all the bells and whistles. But for some reason, I prefer to do all my blogging on my old beat up Dell laptop. It kinda like an old pair of comfortable shoes….that is often too slow, and sometimes won’t work until I scream obscenities at it. Wait a minute…that last line reminds me of my husband. I think I just had a Freudian moment.

    Glad your back. ;)

These damn things can be so trying. I lost everything but my site a little back. You’re a lot smarter with these things than I am. I wish you luck. I’d say you’re already on top of it!

That is not fun. I have another computer if this one goes sour, God forbid. I am really behind in backing up and I must get to that in the next few days.

    Glad to have you back!
